Whereas, the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group, a non-profit and unincorporated organization assembled for the purpose of advancing the hobby and avocation of all amateur radio enthusiasts experimenting with domestic and foreign radio communications, and

 

Whereas, the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group has further been organized to serve and provide a public service when enlisted, as a support mechanism during times of natural disaster, flood, civic participation, or during other such events requiring its service and skills upon request by public officials or bona fide civic organizations, and

 

Whereas, the amateur radio service has long held the belief in the tenets and principles of the Amateur’s Code as the foundation of world-wide service among its members, and

 

Whereas, the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group commits to the development of good citizenship among young people and the engenderment of responsibility within – and for, the community, and

 

Whereas, the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group has demonstrated its commitment by undertaking to raise funds through several projects in cooperation with the Alcona Schools for the express purpose of purchasing radio equipment for those school children who enroll in, and pass Federal Communications Commission licensing requirements for the Amateur Radio spectrum, now

 

Therefore be it resolved, that the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group has set forth the following eligibility requirement and rules for governance of this program, and

 

Be it further resolved that this is a limited covenant which shall remain in effect for so long as the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group is able to, and elects to support this program, and

 

Be it further resolved, that the conditions set forth below are requirements for participation in this program, and

 

Be it further resolved, that the undersigned student and his parent or guardian freely and willingly enter into this agreement.

 

ELIGIBILITY:

 

RULES:

  1. Each participating student shall abide The Amateur’s Code (attached)
  2. No participating student shall sell, trade, or give away, equipment given them by the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group unless, and until, there shall exist the opportunity to upgrade equipment and approval has been granted by the Alcona County Amateur Radio Group.
  3. Each participating student shall, insofar as is possible, participate in such community events as the Alcona County Fair; the Annual Alcona County, County-wide cleanup; Annual Amateur Radio Field Day Exercise; Amateur Radio Emergency Service/Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service nets and be available during times of emergency.
  4. Each Participating student shall maintain a log/accounting of activities in which they participate. Said log/accounting shall be submitted from time to time for review by officials of the Alcona Amateur Radio Group upon request
  5. Parental/guardian approval shall be prerequisite for participation in this program
  6. Each participating student shall be responsible for the care, maintenance, loss or theft of any equipment given him/her
